(I-TravelNewswire.Com, October 06, 2015 ) Sunnyvale, CA -- Since the incidence of credit card fraud and ID theft reached $16 billion last year, the consumer may want to start paying attention to how he protects the cards in his wallet.
The new "smart cards" (cards embedded with microchips) are designed to reduce identity fraud in many ways, but they are more vulnerable to unauthorized scans on the street and in crowded areas.
In the world of ecommerce the EVM (Europay/Visa/MasterCard) mandate was issued directing that all new credit cards must carry a micro-chip on them.
The problem is that criminals operating in busy places such as airports, malls, streets, festivals, etc. will use a pocket-sized scanner to snatch sensitive information off the cards of passersby. These devices are not unlike those scanners used at checkout lines, except they are small enough to be hidden and can read information from up to 20 feet away through clothes, purses and wallets.
Unfortunately, the old ways of protecting one's credit card don't work anymore. Placed on fence posts, poles or hidden in a pocket, they can scan data off hundreds of cards in just one hour.
These days with the evolution of technology, one must carry protection of a different kind to guard against RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) scanning.
Fortunately the solution is simple, safe and affordable. While there are paper or plastic sleeves which supply good protection, they can tear or crinkle and eventually wear out. With no clear front, one cannot identify one's cards easily. Some also do not fit in one's wallet and must be carried separately. All these inconveniences add up to major hassles.
The Card Armor sleeve protects one's cards with an easy fit into any standard sized wallet. Because they have a transparent front, one can identify their cards at a glance.
While they can be purchased on sale on Amazon right now the Card Armor company has just announced the end of this big sale by October 31, 2015.
