(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 05, 2010 ) CODY, Wyo. - Activities are catered to different age ranges with options from nature walks and swimming lessons for the littlest ones to over-night camp outs and trail riding for teens. Below are three examples from the Dude Ranchers Associations list of over 60 ranches with kids programs this summer.
The kid connection program at Wind Walker Guest Ranch in Utah encourages connecting with and learning from nature with activities such as: nature hikes where kids will be taught about wild edible plants, building and racing Huck Finn style rafts and sky-gazing and constellation exploration at night.
For a more traditional summer camp experience TucsonÂ’s Tanque Verde Ranch is offering three overnight camp sessions for ages 9-18. Here kids can work on their swimming, fishing and horsemanship skills.
At Colorado Trails Guest Ranch the younger buckaroos can enjoy scavenger hunts and a picnic lunch horseback ride while their older siblings powertube on Vallecito Lake and campout beneath the stars.
This summer let a dude ranch send the kids on an adventure.
