Paddles and Pints
Back by popular demand, this trip is for tried and true beer lovers who also live for ‘unplugged’ time in the great outdoors. Rogue Wilderness Adventures is partnering with Oregon brew master Mark Vickery for days of thrilling whitewater coupled with sipping frosty, delicious beers by fireside at night. During the day, rafters will paddle one of the most beautiful whitewater rivers in the country. Evenings will be spent with friends, camping on sandy beaches as guides serve mouthwatering riverside fare that perfectly complements beer tasting: dishes like steak, grilled shrimp, and fajitas. Mark will lead guests through a tasting each evening that includes worldwide beer favorites and how each one is created. Beers include northwest pale ales, German, Czech, Dutch, Mexican, American, and more. The trip includes all meals, beer, equipment, guides, and transportation. Date: September 8th, 2011. 4 days/ 3 nights. Cost is $1050.00 per person plus government fees ($36).
Paddles and Pinots
Southern Oregon is known for its great whitewater rafting, but it’s also very well-known for its fabulous Pinot Noir wines. This new trip, for true wine enthusiasts and nature-lovers alike, pairs the best in Oregon Pinot Noirs and Oregon whitewater will come together with a journey that includes savoring the stunning Rogue River scenery by day and sampling delectable wines by night. After rafting 34 miles through the Wild & Scenic Rogue River corridor, wine enthusiasts will ‘bed down’ in cozy historic lodges at night. Guests will be treated to a flavorful dining experience by pairing some of Oregon’s finest wines with gourmet, locally inspired cuisine. 3 days/ 2 nights. Cost: $989 per person plus government fees ($36). Departs September 5th, 2011.
Paddles and Pilates
This fitness vacation, ideal for real workout enthusiasts, pairs whitewater rafting with Pilates classes taught by a professional instructor. Nothing beats a great workout in the great outdoors, and PilateÂ’s practitioners will love the excitement of riding the RogueÂ’s rapids and then toning up with an active PilateÂ’s session. Guests will feel rejuvenated and refreshed after days of soaking up nature while expanding their Pilates practice. Making friends and sharing stories by fireside are all part of the experience as participantÂ’s camp under the stunning Oregon sky at night.
