This summer let the friendly and knowledgeable staff of the Dude Ranchers Association help arrange the perfect family getaway. The Dude Ranchers Association, or DRA, was formed in the 1920s and aims to help individuals and families find their dream dude ranch vacation. Over 100 ranches across the western U.S. and Canada have met the high standards and strict guidelines set by the DRA and have become members.
DRA ranches range from traditional working ranches to more luxurious guest ranches. Modern dude ranches can differ dramatically from the old western stereotypes. Today ranch guests can look forward to a huge range of activities including trail riding and horse clinics, river rafting, rock climbing, yoga and meditation classes, family rodeos, pack trips, nature programs, fishing, and more. During the day kids can run wild and explore within the safety of age-divided programs, while mom and dad tee off with a round of golf, venture out on horseback, or take a historical tour. At night everyone can share their daysÂ’ adventures over a delicious camp-fired or 5-star gourmet meal.
