(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 10, 2012 ) Phuket, Thailand -- The second Fiji Tennis Invitation Classic is set to attract hundreds of players and spectators to the Fijian destination of Denarau Island in 2012, putting added strain on the availability of Denarau Island hotels.
The fact that the tennis tournament is being hosted on Denarau Island has prompted leading hotel room booking website DirectRooms.com to advise advance booking to secure good deals and choice.
The Fiji Tennis Invitation Classic is a tennis tournament for women which invites members of the professional WTA tour along to participate. The competition also acts as a platform for the most talented young female tennis players from Fiji to showcase their skills and maybe get spotted by an agent.
The invitation-only tournament takes place from February 21st to February 25th and will offer a boost to the Denarau Island tourist trade at a traditionally quiet time of year.
The Fiji Tennis Invitation Classic also has a mission to raise money for local charities and players are this year set to arrive from destinations as diverse as the United States, Slovakia, New Zealand, China and India.
